Love Potion
by Taurenelle
Was this love her own, or did he put it there? Drop by drop when she wasn’t looking.
An incantation to conquer her heart. A skeleton key to enter her dreams.
For his was a smile she could live without; always had been, but no longer. Her betraying arms did not recoil at the thought of his touch. Was there some spell upon his breath she inhaled when he made her laugh? Did he enchant his shoulder when she cried upon it?
Or perhaps the signs were always there.
She looked into her friend’s eyes, one last time.
